Oh my goodness, am I excited. Besides creating this blog (Thanks to Carol M for telling me about it.), the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences will announce their annual Academy award nominations Tuesday morning at around 5:30 am Pacific time.

General comments about the nominations: Helen Mirren and Forest Whitaker are the biggest non-surprises. I think United 93 for best director and Click for make-up are the biggest insults to the Academy itself. Little Miss Sunshine is a pleasant surprise for Best Picture. Pan's Labyrinth is the movie that peaks my curiosity the most. The Black Dahlia was a gut choice for me to see just before it left the budget cinema and it worked out. Now to watch, watch, watch as many of the movies as I can before Feb 25!! Good Luck to me.
